ASTM A194
ASTM A194 nuts are manufactured from carbon, alloy, and stainless steel for use in high-pressure and high-temperature applications. These nuts follow ANSI B18.2.2 Heavy Hex dimensions with Class 2B thread fit. Grade 2H nuts are the most common type, widely used for their strength and often substituted for ASTM A563 DH nuts. Available in multiple sizes and finishes, ASTM A194 nuts are ideal for critical industrial applications.

NOTES:
- Markings are shown for both cold-formed and hot-forged nuts. Nuts machined from bar stock must also carry the letter “B”. The listed properties apply to coarse and 8-pitch thread heavy hex nuts. Hardness values are given in Brinell Hardness. Nuts that undergo carbide-solution treatment are additionally marked with the letter “A” (e.g., 8A or 8MA). All nuts must have the manufacturer’s identification mark clearly stamped on one face. While other grades exist, only the most common ones are shown here.
